When Will the Kalaburagi–Wadi Railway Section Get Justice?

When will the continuous neglect, discriminatory treatment, and delays by the Solapur Railway Division and the Central Railway Zone come to an end?

It has been a long-standing demand of the people of this region that major railway stations on the Kalaburagi–Wadi railway section—including Kalaburagi, Wadi, Shahabad, and Ganagapur Road—be provided with modern facilities.

In August 2023, under the first phase of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, foundation stones were laid for the development of these stations, and funds were also sanctioned by the Central Government. However, even after several years, the works have not progressed at the expected pace, causing serious dissatisfaction among the people of this region.

Every time people raise questions, they hear big assurances and responses such as, “The work is in progress” and “It will be completed soon.” But where is the expected change on the ground?

What is the status of the funds sanctioned in 2013–14 for the second pit line?

Why has the construction of the second pit line not even begun after all these years? If funds were released, where were they utilized? What exactly is the reason for the delay in the work? The concerned authorities must provide clear answers to these questions.

This is not merely an issue concerning a railway station. It is a question of the development rights of the people of the Kalaburagi–Wadi region.

The Central Government, State Government, Members of Parliament from this region, elected representatives, political parties, and Kannada-oriented organizations—all must take this issue seriously and raise their voices.

Remaining silent on people's problems is not a solution.

We need work, not promises.
We need clear deadlines, not words.
Development must be visible on the ground, not merely announced through sanctions.

Our Key Questions:

  1. What is the current status of the station development works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on the Kalaburagi–Wadi section?

  2. How much funding has been sanctioned and released? How much has been spent so far?

  3. What is the current status of the funds sanctioned in 2013–14 for the second pit line?

  4. What exactly is the reason why construction of the second pit line has still not commenced?

  5. What is the specific deadline for completing the pending works?

  6. What modern facilities will be provided at Kalaburagi, Wadi, Shahabad, and Ganagapur Road railway stations, and by what dates will they be made available?

From now on, mere assurances or superficial responses will not be enough.

People deserve accountability.
Development needs deadlines.
Projects need speed.
Our region deserves justice.

The people of this region have been waiting patiently for all these years. But patience does not mean accepting injustice forever.

The Kalaburagi–Wadi railway section must receive equal development.

We must receive the facilities that are rightfully ours.

In a system funded by taxpayers' money, our questions deserve answers.

The time has come to answer the question:

“When will this injustice come to an end?”

The voice of the people of the Kalaburagi–Wadi region must no longer remain silent.
